What is slavery?

At first, the wolrd "esclave" comes from the word Slave because at the beginning of the Middle Ages, the Venetian ones sold in great number of Slavic pagan to the Moslem Arabs, which made a great consumption of whites slaves as well as blacks.

The principal characteristics of slavery are the work or of the services by the force, as well as the fact that the individual is considered as the property of another person, its owner, with the will of which it is entirely subjugated. Since the most moved back times, in the majority of the companies, the slaves were legally arranged in the category of the tangible properties and the functional instruments. Also could they be bought, sold, be negotiated, offered in gift or pawned for a debt contracted by their owner, without having usually the least capacity of personal or legal objection.

In short, slavery characterizes the fact of depriving a human being of its rights and reducing it to the statut of a personal property which one can buy and sell.
